Sports Centre League - final league position

Bramcote comfortably maintained Division 1 status in the final round of the SCL at Worksop.

Thank you and well done to all the swimmers who represented Bramcote in 2008. The SCL comprises 5 galas between January and December and the points in each round show how much the team improved in the second half of the season. This bodes well for 2009 with the first round only
7 weeks away!

Continued success in Division 1 has prompted the Club to enter a second team (in Division 3) for the 2009 season. This provides an opportunity for more Bramcote swimmers to enjoy the fun and excitement of gala competition.

County/Regional/National Swimming Rankings

For those not already aware, the times achieved by all our swimmers aged 9 or over at our club champs have been added to the ASA national database. By following this link, you can see where our swimmers are placed in Notts, East Midlands or nationally for any chosen event. This has happened because our club champs was held as a Licensed Level 4 Meet - thanks to the work of Karen Oates and the organising committee.

You can also see where our top swimmers, who regularly do open meets, are placed

If you have any difficulty with using this link, contact me and I will be happy to help.

NOTTS ASA SPORTS CENTRE LEAGUE – DIVISION 1

Nottinghamshire County Championships 2009

Hello Swimmers/Parents,

The Coaches are currently in the process of handing out Nottinghamshire County Championships 2009 letters. These letters contain a personalised recommendation of events for each swimmer eligible to enter – please have a look at these and make a note of the suggested swims.

On Monday 17th November we have a meeting at 7pm in the crèche at Bramcote Leisure Centre, this will be to discuss the upcoming Championships and take in entries for swimmers.

All swimmers (with parents) who have received a letter regards the Championships are invited to attend, the meeting will cover why we do the County Championships, what it means to you as swimmers and also discuss/raise any issues you may have.

It is hoped that on the evening of the 17th we will get the majority of the entries sorted and that as many of the swimmers (including parents) selected for the County Championships will be present as possible.

If you have any initial questions regards this feel free to email, phone or catch me on poolside anytime.

Best regards,

Tom Wilkinson

Individual Competition Cycle – 2008 and 2009

Timing of Squad Movements

The coaching team at Bramcote strive to maintain clear and honest decisions regards squad
movements. We aim to carry out squad movements on a cycle of 4 changes per year. These are:

1. Immediately after the Bramcote Club Championships (September/October)
2. Immediately after the Bramcote Open Meet (November/December)
3. Immediately after the Nottinghamshire County Championships and Bramcote Spring Badge
Gala (March/April)
4. Immediately after the Nottinghamshire ASA Time Trials and Bramcote Summer Badge Gala
(June/July )

Squad movements outside of these designated time periods are rare and must be for exceptional
circumstances.

Tom Wilkinson
Head Coach

PS. You can find the Club's full policy on squad movements here.
