The world governing body for swimming (FINA) has been debating for several months over the eligibility of certain swim suits for competition. The definitive list of legal racing suits has now been published and can be found here:
http://www.fina.org/project/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2389&Itemid=107
Although this may only affect a small number of competitive swimmers at the club, it is something to keep in mind when purchasing performance suits. British swimming are likely to adopt the policy directed by FINA so please adhere to this list of suits when spending your money!
For the most part I imagine shops to start removing suits from their shelves that cannot be used in competition.

Fundraising car wash for Germany swim trip a great success

There was more than 60 people from the swimming club involved throughout the day, and this was managed in a shift system. With people "donating" a couple of hours at a time. The club started setting up for the event at 8am and by 8.30am a queue of cars had started to form, so the car wash opened 1/2 hour earlier than planned!
There was a steady stream of cars all day, even through the showers, & the team sprirt from the club members was superb! Over £240 was raised, and at £3 per car, this was excellent value for money.
Bramcote Swimming Club would like to thank Bramcote Leisure Centre for their support in making all this possible.
Due to the success of this fund-raiser, a second car wash is being organised in July (date to be decided).
The swimming club is planning a twinning trip to Gutersloh, Germany, and will involve members of all ages from our younger junior swimmers through to our older Masters swimmers, and will be taking place in August.
The club has been given morning and evening training times at the local swimming pool, and they will be competing in a specially organised "Celebration Gala" with the local swim clubs from in and around Gutersloh.
A visit to the Town Hall and Civic Reception is also on the agenda as well as some fun day out trips for everyone. The organising committee have met with such kindness and generosity from the twinning committee in Gutersloh that they hope that Bramcote SC may be able to host a similar reciprocal visit for our new German friends.

Midland Youth Championships
Congratulations to Bramcote swimmers who participated at the Midland Youth Championships this weekend just gone (Saturday 2nd and 3rd May). Rebecca Patrick was the only member from Bramcote Swimming Club who trains with the club day-in-day-out, however we were also represented by Natasha Hofton, Emma Bird and Laura Jamison who were swimming for Nova. Some very fast swims and a great achievement to make it to such a high level of the sport.

Leicester Diddy Gala

Please find above the team selected to represent Bramcote at the next round of the Leicester Diddy League. This will take place on Saturday 9th May at Loughborough Leisure Centre. Warm up will be at 6pm.
My apologies for such late notice but I had misplaced the team list passed to me and then have been in Ireland for 3 days. Hopefully you can all make it. All gala dates are on the calendar on the notice board so please keep checking just in case you are selected. This will help me as I am getting old and keep losing things.
Thank you
A team list will be on the board today (Monday)
